"The Incredible Hulk: Abominations"Book Title: The Incredible HULK: Abominations Author: Jason Henderson Illustrations: James W. Fry Publisher: Marvel Comics, Byron Press Multimedia Co. A Boulevard Book Published: 1997 Paperback Reviewed by "The Gamma Vault", Thomas Suhling Book Review: The Incredible Hulk vs. The Abomination... 'Nuff said! Jason Henderson picks up on the character development started by Peter David in his novel (What Savage Beast) and his run on the regular Hulk comic and does a wonderful job with it. The Hulk, while trying to keep a low profile, is enlisted into a war with the Abomination by the government agency, S.A.F.E. Seems the Abomination, tired of living in the sewers of New York, decides to start tormenting family, friend and foe alike. Terror and tragedy rain from the Abomination, all while he keeps one step ahead of S.A.F.E and the Hulk. Who should read this book? Any Hulk or Abomination fan. Like I said, it's Hulk vs. Abomination! Weather this is the only Hulk novel you've read or if you have them all, this story flows along and "fits" in nicely with the other Hulk novels. Excellent reading. What was Incredible: This is a wonderful book and story. The torment of the Abomination is very well done and the "relationship" between the Hulk and S.A.F.E is starting to really heat up! What was not Incredible: Not much... some of the "flashback" portions of the book seemed to be slow at times, but that's reaching. Gamma Bomb Rating (Out of 5 bombs): Another Gamma blast! 4 and a half bombs! |
